Biography

My experience as an Arizona family law attorney began in 1995 after acquiring my license to practice law. I received my legal education from Sandra Day O'Connor at Arizona State University in 1994. After my 18 years of legal practice, I have had the ability to reach an elite level of knowledge in divorce, child custody, alimony, child support, child abuse, alimony, paternity, military divorce, estate planning and much more.

Legal Answers
Q. If two people have joint physical custody, can the parent who doesn't have the child pick them up from school?
A: Unless there is a restriction in the parenting plan preventing the other parent from visiting the child at school, there is nothing that would prevent him or her visiting the child at school. However, if that parent takes the child from school during the other parent's scheduled parenting time, that could be what is referred to as "custodial interference", which is a misdemeanor, and contempt of the court's order. I would really need to look at the court order to provide a more definitive answer. I hope this information was helpful.
Q. Once granted a deferral of court fees for divorce how long is the deferral valid for?
A: The deferral of fees will last until a final order is issued in your case. If you get divorce in Arizona and need to file a motion to modify or enforce any issues in your divorce decree, you would need to file a new request to defer fees relating to that motion.
