About Jeffrey HuttenburgMy primary area of practice is estate planning. A solid estate plan gives my clients the piece of mind that their families will be taken care of and their property distributed in accordance with their wishes.
Estate planning involves creating a plan for the transfer of property at your death as well as a variety of other personal matters. Consideration of your goals, your assets and how they are owned, and your family structure needs to be made. A comprehensive estate plan will ensure that your assets pass in an orderly and efficient manner to designated individuals.
Estate planning may involve a marital property agreement, wills, trusts, durable financial power of attorney and the durable medical power of attorney. Specific final arrangements, such as whether to be buried or cremated, can also be part of an estate plan.
Because your situation will likely change over the course of your life, your estate plan should be reviewed on a regular basis. I have been preparing estate plans for more than 30 years, and teach an estate planning course at Mid-State Technical Institute.
