Biography

Jesse graduated from The University of Akron in 2001 with a degree in Fire Protection Technology. He graduated again in 2004 with degrees in the Arts and Emergency Management. In 2006 he received his Master's degree in Sociology and began work on his PhD. After much contemplation he decided to apply this background to the field of law and subsequently graduated from The Ohio State University in early 2009. Thereafter, Jesse has been drafting legislation and conducting legal research for members of the General Assembly.

As a student and scholar Jesse has researched and published numerous articles about ways to reduce the prevalence of domestic violence. He has also served as a law clerk at the Ohio Statehouse, in the criminal courts of Florida, for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and with the United States Attorney's Office.

In his personal life, Jesse has devoted himself to assisting those in need. Over the years he has traveled to several different countries volunteering in refugee camps, orphanages, and villages where war and violence have taken their toll.

As a leader in the community, Jesse has developed programs to provide computer training and college scholarships to the underprivileged and has contributed numerous hours to pro bono activities earning him special recognition from the Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation as well as being named a Public Service Fellow with the Dean's Highest Honors by The Ohio State University.
