I am a commercial litigator specializing in federal litigation, including trials. I work extensively with online businesses, specifically in connection with the use of intellectual property on the Internet in both litigation and non-litigation roles. My firm is also recognized for its strength in construction litigation.

I have successfully represented clients of every size in state and federal courts, arbitrations and mediations in a variety of litigation matters, including contract disputes, distributorship litigation, trademark and unfair competition cases, business tort claims, toxic tort and insurance coverage litigation, discrimination and wrongful discharge cases, copyright infringement claims, and cases involving trade secrets, restrictive covenants and real estate. My litigation experience runs from pretrial investigation and early dispute resolution through every aspect of bench and jury trials as well as appeals.

Cari is a licensed attorney in the States of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut while being licensed in the District of Columbia. Before starting Rincker Law, PLLC, Cari was an associate at Budd-Falen Law Offices, LLC in Cheyenne, Wyoming where her broad practice areas ranged from agriculture, environmental and natural resource issues to federal lands, wind energy development, crop insurance, property law, commercial law, and probate with clients located all over the west.

Cari’s passion for agriculture issues is deeply rooted. She grew up on a seedstock Simmental cattle operation in Shelbyville, Illinois where she spent significant time working on her family’s farm. She showed cattle through 4-H and FFA at both the local and national levels and was involved with the American Junior Simmental Association.

Cari went on to attend Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois where she received her Associate’s in Agriculture Science and had a successful career on their livestock judging team. Cari then transferred to Texas A & M University where received her Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science and was a member of both the Livestock and Meat Animal Evaluation (“Askarben”) judging teams and actively involved with Saddle and Sirloin and Texas Aggie Cattlewomen. At Texas A & M University, Cari was selected to participate in the Congressional Agriculture and Natural Resource Policy Internship Program through the College of Agriculture. It is here that Cari received her first glimpse into agriculture law and policy during her summer working for Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX).

After Texas A & M, Cari came back home to the University of Illinois to complete her Masters of Science in Ruminant Nutrition where her concentration was in beef feedlot nutrition. Cari completed two research projects in the areas of distillers grain and genetic markers for marbling which each led to published works. During this time, Cari was a research and teaching assistant for Dr. Larry Berger, coached the Shelby County 4-H Livestock Judging Team, and completed an internship with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association in Washington, D.C.

Due to her passion for law and policy, Cari decided to complete her Juris Doctor from Pace University, School of Law, in White Plains, New York. At Pace, Cari completed certificates in both Environmental Law and International Law and was a Vice-Chair on the National Environmental Moot Court Competition Board. While in law school, Cari worked at SimmonsCooper, LLC in their international litigation division and completed a consultantcy with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations where she conducted research on national legal frameworks on the conservation of livestock biodiversity and was a contributing author to "The State of the World's Animal Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture."

Furthermore, while at Pace, Cari participated in Yale University’s School of Forestry’s Environmental Diplomacy program where she worked as an advisor for the Permanent Mission of the Republic of the Marshall Islands to the United Nations, sat the floor of the General Assembly and gave policy recommendations to Ambassador Capelle. In addition to these experiences, Cari interned with Homelessness Prevention Unit for the Los Angeles Public Counsel, the largest pro bono clinic in the world.

Cari continues to have her boots planted firmly in agriculture and enjoys judging livestock shows and taking pictures of the livestock industry and rural life. She is the owner of Rincker Cattle Co., a SimAngus operation in Shelbyville Illinois, and is on the leadership board for National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Young Producers' Council. Cari also enjoys international travel, distance running, playing volleyball, watching both Illini basketball and Aggie football, and sitting in the cheapseats for baseball games. Community service remains a high priority for Cari as she serves the New York metropolitan area through her church and non-profit organizations.

Attorney Shepro is the owner of Jeffrey Shepro P.C. in New York City. At New York Law School he was elected Co-Justice of the Phi Alpha Delta International Law Fraternity. He interned for the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation where he audited construction contracts, license agreements and government grants. After law school and prior to opening his own practice, Attorney Shepro worked in general practice. He represented clients in litigation, corporate transactions and real estate transactions. Before entering the practice of law, he worked in corporate finance and sales operations. He helped increase sales, customers and efficiencies for several large corporations.

Most entrepreneurs, professionals (including lawyers), and business managers and owners lack true and complete knowledge about Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR). I hope to educate and enlighten them regarding the advantages of ADR and avoiding more costly court litigation proceedings. I welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you and to debunk some of the inaccurate myths that seem to re-circulate, based on misinformation, old information, or lack of information about the realities of ADR. I also can tell you about the particular situations where – in contrast – court litigation is preferable to ADR or even necessary; one size does not fit all in the realm of business dispute resolution.

ADR allows parties to take more control over, and often lets them customize the resolution of, their disputes instead of simply having an unwelcome adjudication forced on them by a judge who is constrained more mechanically to apply limited facts to the law, rather than take a flexible and targeted approach for the greater good of the parties. ADR is usually cheaper, faster, less disruptive, and more beneficial to the parties overall. Disputing parties who utilize ADR usually come out more satisfied with the end result than do those who litigate in court.

I place particular emphasis upon effective, responsive communication with clients, helping to inform and guide them through the often unfamiliar and confusing maze of business litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Other central services include helping clients avoid business disputes by performing litigation risk management (troubleshooting for potential areas of litigation liability); representing clients who have received a subpoena from a governmental agency such as the New York State Attorney General or the United States Department of Justice; as well as drafting, reviewing, and/or negotiating confidentiality and non-competition agreements, commercial leases, and other types of contracts.

My firm practices primarily in New York State and Federal trial and appellate courts, and before arbitrators and mediators in the New York metropolitan area. Based on my unique level of experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), I provide ADR consultation services to other attorneys. I also serve regularly as New York or Long Island local counsel to out-of-state lawyers or companies involved in litigation in this region, respecting and protecting referring professionals' relationships with their clients.

My practice background includes clerkship with a federal Magistrate-Judge early in my legal training; service with a significant midtown Manhattan law firm; more than a decade as a partner in a medium-sized, high-quality Nassau County, Long Island law firm; and, since 2000, managing my own firm.

In addition to my law practice, I devote significant efforts to my service as a professional neutral commercial arbitrator for several major forums and as a private professional neutral commercial mediator. As an arbitrator, I hear and adjudicate business dispute cases, rendering binding Orders and Awards that are legally enforceable in court. As a mediator, I facilitate consensual resolution of business disputes, resulting in the parties' written settlement agreement. In each of my capacities, I handle conflict management in the context of business dispute resolution.

I also have personal experience running a small business: From 1988 through 2007, as President of a domestic real estate company owned by an Australian client, I managed autonomously the business operations and commercial real estate holdings of this entity, acting in all respects as a commercial landlord concerning property in Manhattan. I regularly serve on the boards of New York not-for-profit corporations, and help to run legal and business networking groups, enabling me to develop and foster a broad and deep network of trusted professionals on whom I can rely to assist my clients and colleagues for matters that are outside the areas of my expertise.

Business disputes should not be handled absent expert assistance. Not only should you not seek to deal with a brewing dispute by yourself, you also should be wary of hiring those whose legal practice focuses in other arenas (e.g., corporate transactional work; tax; real estate; personal injury; and the like) to handle the legal aspects of your business dispute. I don't presume to be able to practice in their areas; you should be cautious about having them venture into these specialized waters.

Larry Cary is a Founding Member of Cary Kane LLP. He has practiced labor, employment and employee benefits law for nearly 25 years. He has been involved with the American labor movement for over 35 years. Prior to co-founding the firm, Mr. Cary was the senior partner in the labor department of Vladeck, Waldman, Elias & Engelhard, PC., where he represented unions and benefit plans for 17 years. He also previously served as in-house general counsel to the Amalgamated Service and Allied Industries Joint Board, ACTWU, and its benefit plans. Before attending law school, Mr. Cary was an organizer for Local 3, United Storeworkers, RWDSU, a research assistant in a Multi-Employer Welfare Plan, and the development specialist in charge of starting-up the Robert F. Wagner Labor Archives at New York University.

Mr. Cary is an Adjunct in the labor liberal arts extension certificate program of Cornell University, School of Industrial and Labor Relations, where he has taught labor, employment and employee benefits law for over 20 years. Previously, Mr. Cary was an Assistant Professor for Hofstra University where he taught labor law, union administration, contract administration, collective bargaining, political science and public administration. Mr. Cary also taught at the Labor College, Empire State, SUNY, in the Local 3, IBEW, electrical apprentice associates degree program.

For nearly 25 years Mr. Cary has served as counsel or co-counsel to multi-employer pension, annuity, profit sharing, welfare, vacation and legal services plans in the private sector. He has also served as counsel to union-administered welfare, legal services and education funds in the public sector in New York City. On behalf of unions, Mr. Cary negotiates collective bargaining agreements, arbitrates disciplinary and contract interpretation disputes, deals with internal union matters and advises on anti-corporate campaigns. He has handled matters before a wide variety of administrative agencies, including the NLRB, NMB, PERB, OCB, OATH, IRS, DOL, INS, EEOC, NYS Division of Human Rights and NYS Departments of Health, Education and Labor. He has represented or counseled clients in the following industries: trucking, warehousing, municipal and voluntary hospitals, nursing homes, the postal service, defense contracting, building service, newspaper, retail, manufacturing, clothing, laundry and linen supply, maritime, airline, private and public sector education, bakery, grocery and produce, over the road freight, and government.

He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York. He litigates in both New York and Federal courts and is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Seventh Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Mr. Cary is active in a number of organizations. He has served since 1983 as a member of the advisory board of the Robert F. Wagner Labor Archives, which is an internationally-respected labor history archives. He is the Treasurer of the Workers Defense League, Inc., which provides free representation to claimants at unemployment compensation insurance hearings in New York City. He serves pro bono as counsel to the New York Committee on Occupational Safety and Health, which is the leading organization in New York City promoting safe and healthful workplaces. For ten years he was the President of the Cornell University Adjunct Faculty Federation, Local 4228, NYSUT, AFT, and a delegate to the New York City Central Labor Council. Mr. Cary served on the Executive Board of the New York Labor History Association for ten years and was its President in 1985-1986. As a result of his efforts, in 1986 Governor Mario M. Cuomo proclaimed May to be "Labor History Month" in New York State.

He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee, the Federal Bar Council, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Association of Benefit Administrators. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Foundation of Brooklyn Technical High School, having graduated from Tech, where he majored in chemistry. The Alumni Foundation is currently undertaking a $21 million fund raising campaign for Tech. He graduated from Brooklyn College, with a major in history and a minor in economics. He received a Masters of Public Administration from New York University where his studies concentrated on health policy, planning and administration. He earned his law degree at Brooklyn Law School. He recently earned a Certificate in Employee Benefits Law from Georgetown University's Law Center.

I am a senior corporate/securities lawyer with broad experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and private equity/venture capital, for the most part involving U.S. and foreign small-cap public companies and middle-market private companies. I focus particularly on representing small-cap public companies in a wide range of industries (most notably petroleum, electronics/technology, transportation, and apparel/retail) in IPOs and other equity and debt financings, SEC reporting, NYSE and Nasdaq listings, corporate governance, and negotiating strategic transactions.

I serve on the Corporate Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association. I am also a member of the New York Chapters of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals and the National Investor Relations Institute, the American Bar Association's Committees on Federal Regulation of Securities and International Law and the Colombian American Association.

Specializing in securities law, the rights of creditors and bankruptcy law, including tenant bankruptcies, Mr. Jaskiel concentrates on sophisticated commercial litigation at Solomon J Jaskiel. He is proficient in the handling of litigation disputes from preliminary relief through appeal. During his career, Mr. Jaskiel has litigated on behalf of small to mid-sized businesses in state and federal courts. He specializes in the efficient resolution of disputes.
