John L. Wilson, Managing Shareholder, holds a BS in Administrative Management, with Honor, from Clemson University (1978) and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina, School of Law (1981). John concentrates his practice in residential and commercial real estate, timeshare,probate, estate planning and business law. Admitted to the SC Bar in 1981, he is admitted to the US District Court, US Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, US Tax Court and the US Supreme Court. John is a member of the Real Estate, Probate and Corporation Sections of the SC Bar. He is a Past President of the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club as well as the Hilton Head Island Jaycees. He has been recognized as the Rotarian of the Year by the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club and the Rotarian of the Year out of 4800 Rotarians in the 78 Club District of Coastal and Midlands South Carolina. John is an honored member of Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals, Who's Who Among Outstanding Americans and Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. John is married to Jackie, our office manager and they have 2 sons and 2 daughters, Tom, Kelli, Andrew and Sara. John and Jackie enjoy boating, their grandchildren and their 3 dogs, Higgins, Summer and Bum.

A third generation attorney, Bill began practicing in the areas of estate planning and probate in 1983 in Bergen County, New Jersey in a firm founded by his grandfather. He is licensed in both New Jersey and South Carolina, but currently restricts his practice to South Carolina.

Bill has continued to practice primarily in the areas of estate planning, wills, trusts, estate administration and business law after relocating his practice to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. His practice is comprised primarily of referrals from accountants, financial planners and other attorneys, as well as referrals from prior clients. A past president of the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club, Bill is married to Kim, assistant principal of the Hilton Head Island International Baccelaureate Elementary School, and has two daughters, Stephanie and Laurel. He and Kim enjoy boating, and their three dogs, Cody, Bailey and Laci.

Mark C. Fava is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP practicing aviation law and land use matters. From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Fava served as an elected member of his local municipality’s government until he relocated to Atlanta for three years where he worked as the chief operations attorney for Delta Air Lines, Inc., during and after 9/11. Mr. Fava’s broad aviation practice includes litigation and regulatory law. Admitted to practice in Washington, DC, he represents aviation clients in matters involving the Department of Transportation, the FAA, the TSA, and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Currently, his clients include air taxis, air carriers, aircraft manufacturers, fixed based operators, and fractional ownership organizations. He serves as the general counsel of the Atlanta-based Air Taxi Association and is the leader of Nelson Mullins' Southeastern Aviation Law Practice Group.

In his land use practice, Mr. Fava handles complex zoning matters. He has successfully represented national clients before planning commissions, elected bodies, and architectural review boards. His practice includes representing developers in negotiations of detailed development agreements with municipalities. Further, utilizing his extensive aviation experience, he has specifically advised clients in airport development and zoning matters.

Mr. Fava holds the rank of captain in the United States Navy Reserve. He has accumulated more than 3300 flight hours as a Naval Flight Officer in the P-3 Orion and is the former commanding officer of a Navy aviation squadron in Jacksonville, Fla. He now serves as the commanding officer of the Navy Reserve Unit of the Navy Inspector General in Washington, DC.

Mr. Fava is an elected member of the Governing Committee of the ABA’s Forum on Air & Space Law. Mr. Fava taught Legal Writing and Oral Advocacy at the Charleston School of Law from 2004 to 2006 and has taught Aviation Law as an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina School of Law since 2006.
