My decision to become a criminal defense attorney was the product of a horrifying personal hardship. As a young adult I was the victim of police brutality, which resulted in a fractured skull, a broken thumb, several body lacerations and five false counts of criminal charges. Although I was later found not guilty on all criminal charges, this unfortunate event shaped who I am today as a criminal attorney.

My life has been and continues to be a testament to the pursuit of justice for those subjected to law enforcement's sometimes overzealous tactics. I firmly believe in the United States Constitution, particularly the rights afforded to every individual under the Due Process Clause of the 5th and 14th Amendment. It is not only my job but my life passion to uphold and protect those Constitutional rights.

With these ideals in mind, I went on to attend the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where I gained the knowledge to support my passion for law. I refined my knowledge while working with several prominent law firms. However, it was my experiences working at a Public Defender's Office that grounded me and helped deepen my understanding of the situations that many individuals accused of crimes go through. This human perspective is critical in developing open communication with clients and gaining their trust.

I founded Joslyn Law Firm with the mission of strongly advocating for the rights of men, women, and minors who face criminal charges. No matter the charges that my client face, they can be assured that they are being given the highest level of attention, all of my knowledge and dedication to their case. Located in Columbus, Ohio, my law firm represents clients throughout Central Ohio, including out-of-state visitors.

My legal practice is primarily focused on criminal defense. This includes OVI (operating vehicle under the influence), domestic violence, probation violation, drug charges, marijuana arrests, violent crimes, weapon violations, and other misdemeanor and felony offenses. I also provide guidance and representation for protective order hearings, license revocation hearings, emergency bond hearings, criminal records sealing, and other administrative matters.

Given my early experience with law enforcement and police brutality, I also passionately represent clients in civil rights cases. My firsthand experience gives me a deep perspective of police misconduct, police brutality, false arrest, false evidence, police intimidation, and police corruption matters. I understand the anxiety that people in these situations face and I fiercely defend their rights against even the most intimidating police departments.
