A lifelong resident of Rockville, Maryland, I graduated from Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School (Washington, DC) in 1999.

Thereafter, I pursued my undergraduate degree at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio where I majored in International Affairs and Spanish, with minors in English and Latin American Studies. I was a volunteer English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor at Norwood View Elementary School and a Spanish teacher at the Xavier University Montessori School. My teaching and involvement with other non-profit organizations earned me the Peter J. Buschmann, S.J. Scholarship for Public Service. As a senior at Xavier, I was one of a handful of students inducted into the Sigma Delta Pi, National Collegiate Spanish Honor Society.

After graduating from Xavier in 2003, I attended Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. During law school, I was the Treasurer of the Cleveland-Marshall Chapter of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity (Ranney Senate) and one of the founding members of the National Lawyer’s Guild (Cleveland-Marshall Chapter). My passion for community advocacy led me to become a Legal Observer for several demonstrations, ensuring that individuals’ civil rights were protected, and I taught “Street Law Clinics” during which I educated citizens of their Constitutional civil rights. I was a student practitioner with the Cleveland-Marshall Community Advocacy Clinic, which focused on redevelopment of blighted urban areas of Cleveland, Ohio. Upon graduation from law school, I was awarded the Student Public Interest Law Organization’s Scholarship for Outstanding Service to the Community.

Ms. Kovan has a decade of "big firm" litigation experience. Now she offers that level of expertise to her clients at a more cost effective rate. Ms. Kovan’s litigation experience includes representing companies and individuals in state and federal court actions throughout the United States as well as securities matters pending before the National Association of Securities Dealers, New York Stock Exchange (collectively now known as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA“)) and the United States Securities Commission (“SEC”). Ms. Kovan has handled numerous securities related matters, including customer disputes, enforcement actions, SEC investigations and insider trading investigations/actions. Ms. Kovan has also represented clients in federal and state litigation and appeals.

Additionally, Ms. Kovan has represented clients in commercial and real estate disputes. Ms. Kovan has a long track record of successfully representing commercial and individual taxpayers in real estate tax assessment appeals throughout Pennsylvania. She has secured significant property tax savings for her clients, including representing a national telecommunications provider in state-wide tax appeals and a major international airport in its tax exemption appeals.

Ms. Kovan brings with her a unique understanding of business, as prior to law school, Ms. Kovan worked in the area of international trade finance in Vienna, Austria. In that capacity, she assisted large and small companies in the financing of import/export transactions (including letters of credit) throughout the world. She is fluent in German and proficient in French.

Mr. Pappas' practice focuses in all areas of civil litigation primarily representing commercial and business clients. Mr. Pappas represents title companies, mortgage companies, financial institutions, real estate developers, manufacturing companies and individuals with commercial disputes. Mr. Pappas represents these clients in arbitration, mediation and trial settings. Mr. Pappas also advises clients regarding intellectual property matters including trademarks, copyrights, licensing and infringement litigation.

Mr. Pappas received his B.A. from Lehigh University and his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Widener University School of Law, where he was a National Competitor on the Moot Court Honor Society, member of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society and served on the Executive Board of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society. He was also founding member of the Widener Law chapter of Just Democracy, a student run organization founded to protect voter rights.

While in law school, Mr. Pappas served as a law clerk to the Honorable Timothy J. Savage of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He was also a legal intern at a commercial litigation law firm in Center City Philadelphia. Mr. Pappas is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
