Previous Employment Summary
I am no stranger to hard work. During my college years, I was a volunteer EMT. During law school I taught CPR for the American Red Cross, and also was a computer repair technician. Now during my short career as an attorney, I have had numerous cases involving Bankruptcy, Family Law and Divorce, Child Custody, and Criminal Defense.

I dedicate some time to Pro Bono projects.

I am 43 years old and have lived in Avon, Connecticut my entire life. My practice is centered around personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. Competitive sports were the spring board for a career in litigation. I have been a competitive athlete as long as I remember and was the only athlete in the State to earn All State Honors in two sports in 1983: Track and Field and Soccer. I have coached girls soccer for six years, earned a "D" coaching license and earned three State Championships at the youth level, Currently I race for a NASTAR team at Ski Sundown and sponsor local youth teams in New Britian and Berlin and have been a team member/walker and major contributor to the American Breast Cancer Association for the last four years. LAW IS MUCH LIKE SORTS. Success in trial or at the negotiating table takes preparation, desire, commitment and skill. My entire staff of employees exude these attributes. My office recently found a a new home in a beautiful 1890 Victorian in Walnut Hill Park in New Britain. Family: my daughter, Blair, was voted by the Connecticut Girls Soccer Coaches Association to the 2008 All-New England team and is the Pre-Season pick for Hartford Courant Player of the Year for 2009.

Cecilia Buck-Taylor, J.D. has been practicing law for over 18 years in the areas of Domestic & Family Law, Real Estate, Probate, Corporate, Criminal, and Juvenile Matters. Attorney Buck-Taylor received her juris doctorate from the Fordham University School of Law where she graduated in 1991. Attorney Buck-Taylor also has dual majors in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Albany from which she graduated with honors. Attorney Buck-Taylor also has many years of experience and training as a mediator, collaborator and an arbitrator and is committed to resolving disputes outside of the court system.

Attorney Buck-Taylor is a member of the CT Bar Association - ADR & Family Law Sections, American Bar Association - ADR & Family Law Sections, the Litchfield County Collaborative Divorce Group, the International Association of Collaborative Professionals as well as the Association for Conflict Resolution - International & New England Chapters. Most recently Attorney Buck-Taylor has been appointed to the CBA Standing Committee - Dispute Resolution in the Courts (2009-2010).

Attorney Buck-Taylor is also active in her community and serves on the Ethics Commission of the Town of New Milford and the New Milford Housing Partnership. Attorney Buck-Taylor is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce.

Having many years of experience as a court appointed attorney for minor children and guardian ad litem and as a Family Masters, Attorney Buck-Taylor understands family and divorce issues, including custody issues, divorce, mediation, and collaborative work from many different perspectives.
