Steven A. Clayton joined Hirschi Christensen in 2009 with an emphasis in business law, property law and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Hirschi Christensen, Mr. Clayton worked as an attorney and Senior Associate at Cottonwood Capital a real estate acquisition, development and management company that owns and manages over $400MM worth of national real estate. While at Cottonwood, Mr. Clayton gained valuable and practical client perspective on a wide range of legal and business issues, including: corporate organization and governance, contracts and acquisitions, due diligence, financing, securities, land use, environmental, employment and torts. Mr. Clayton attended the S.J. Quinney College of Law and the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah graduating with a J.D./M.B.A. degree in December of 2004. While in law and business school Mr. Clayton enjoyed clerkship opportunities with the State of Utah Attorney General and Cherokee & Walker, a private equity firm based in Salt Lake. Mr. Clayton graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Utah in 2000 with a Honors B.A. in History and a Spanish Minor. Mr. Clayton is a member of the Utah State Bar and the Bar of the United States District Court for the District of Utah. Mr. Clayton enjoys spending time biking, skiing, hiking and with family.
