In May 2002, Casey received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University where he graduated cum laude.

In December 2004, Casey received his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law, with honors.

After passing the February 2005 Mississippi Bar Exam, Casey began practicing at The Lott Law Firm with his father, Duncan Lott. He was admitted to Practice in the State and Federal Courts of Mississippi and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2005. He was also admitted to practice in Alabama in 2006.

During his tenure at Ole Miss, Casey was elected Vice resident of the Ole Miss student chapter of the Mississippi Association for Justice in 2002 and 2003 and was elected President in 2004. He was a member of the law school's Moot Court Board in 2003 and 2004. He placed in the top four in both the 2003 Moot Court Board Appellate Advocacy Competition and in the 2004 Stein Reynolds Dalephite Trial Advocacy Competition. He was also one of three students selected to represent Ole Miss in the 2003 National Appellate Advocacy Competition in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2004, he received the Francis S. Bowling Scholarship in Law which is rewarded annually a student who has excelled academically and has demonstrated leadership ability and trial advocacy skills.

Since entering the practice of law, Casey has secured multi-million dollar awards on behalf of his clients and has been actively involved in trial litigation involving personal injury including products liability, pharmaceutical litigation, medical malpractice, and automobile accident cases. Casey has also been actively involved in Multi-District Litigation and was even awarded a spot on the Discovery Committee in the Bausch & Lomb ReNu with Moisture Loc MDL. Casey is also actively involved in divorce/child custody litigation and felony criminal defense.

Casey is now an active member of the Prentiss County, Mississippi and American Bar Associations and the Mississippi Association for Justice (MAJ). In 2005, he was elected to serve on the MAJ Board of Governors. Casey was also named Young Lawyer of the Year for 2005-2006 by the Mississippi Association for Justice. In 2009, he was elected President of the Prentiss County Bar Association.

A full-service law practice focused on litigation, including both criminal and civil matters, and serving clients throughout North Mississippi.
