M. Rita Metts is a Divorce Lawyer, Personal Injury Lawyer and Certified Family Court Mediator representing Divorce, Legal Separation, Alimony, Workers' Compensation, Social Security Disability and Automobile Accident cases throughout South Carolina. She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993. She received her Bachelor of Sciene degree from the University of South Carolina in 1990. Ms. Metts is a former Assistant Public Defender with the Newberry County Public Defender's Office. She currently owns and operates the Metts Law Firm, LLC. She is also the Town Attorney for Carlisle, South Carolina and an licensed Instructor for the South Carolina Department of Insurance. She is a member of the National Bar Association, South Carolina Association for Equal Justice, South Carolina Workers Compensation Education Association and Associate Member of the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus. She is a board member of Carolina Boys Home and BGM, Inc. She is a Certified Family Court Mediator and member of the South Carolina Bar Association's Family Law and Workers Compensation sections.
