Attorney Martin Valko of Dallas immigration law firm of Chavez & Valko, LLP, represents individuals and families from around the world, private and publicly traded (also Fortune 100) companies in employment-based immigration, several international Olympic and professional athletes, car racers, artists, and musicians in various non-immigrant and immigrant matters. He also secures visas to foreign countries.

Martin Valko has a first hand knowledge about the U.S. immigration laws as he has been through the entire process – from being a high-school exchange student, college student to an H-1B worker to his permanent residency and dual citizenship. Martin's clients greatly appreciate his in-depth understanding of the complex immigration process. Born in Levo?a, Slovakia, Martin Valko spent his childhood traveling and living in several countries due to his father’s career as a diplomat and Ambassador for Slovak Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia). He moved to the United States in 1991 to complete his high school studies, where he also obtained his college and law degrees.

Martin Valko is married to a 5-time Olympian (2-time Olympic silver medalist, World and European Champion) swimmer Martina Moravcova, and they reside in Dallas, Texas. Martin is fluent in Slovak, Czech, and English, and is conversant in Russian.

I am a registered nurse as well as a licensed attorney. My practice areas include, Dallas, Rockwall, Collin, Kaufman, Hunt, Denton and Tarrant counties. I am a trained collaborative lawyer and belong to the Rockwall Collaborative Family Law Alliance, as well as Collaborative Law Institue of Texas.

95% of my practice is family law and 5% is representation of nurses before the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.

Karen A. Alexander is a graduate of Baylor University, School of Law. Mrs. Alexander is the owner of Alexander & Associates and specializes in criminal cases. Since opening her own law office, Ms. Alexander has successfully negotiated and tried criminal cases in both County Courts and District Courts throughout Denton, Dallas and Tarrant Counties. A prosecutor has described Ms. Alexander as "a damn good lawyer" and a Judge commented that Ms. Alexander demonstrated superior trial skills and even went so far as to discuss the quality of Ms. Alexander's closing argument with other defense lawyers in chambers.

Prior to opening her own firm, Mrs. Alexander worked for the Denton County District Attorney's Office as a criminal prosecutor. Mrs. Alexander has conducted fifty or more court hearings as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney, more than fifty jury trials. The court room is where Mrs. Alexander feels at home. When negotiations fall through or a prosecutor just doesn't want to see their case for what it is, Mrs. Alexander is ready to play ball inside of the courtroom. Since leaving the DA's office in 2003, Mrs. Alexander has expanded her firm and has hired multiple associate attorneys to work along side of her. She has been the President of the Denton County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, including starting a public information website at www.dccdla.org. Additionally, Karen has been a director on the board of lawyers for the Denton County Bar Associations and a member of the College of the State Bar. Karen has been active in the defense community, attending both local and State wide continuing education programs, including but not limited to: the 26th and 27th Annual Prairie Dog Conference, DWI Boot Camp, Domestic Violence Seminar, Advanced DWI Cross-Examination, 3rd Annual Juvenile Review Course, Intoxication Manslaughter School, Objection Sustained Competition (where I placed second) and Prosecutors Trial Skills Course. Mrs. Alexander remains up to date on all activity with the appeal court regarding criminal matter because it may effect your case.

I am very experienced in domestic litigation and do appeals in areas of civil law. I am a mediator and a member of the State Bar College. I volunteer at Fathers for Equal Rights and am a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas.
