I am a shareholder at Rhoades McKee, P.C. I help individuals and businesses facing real estate disputes, land development challenges, condemnation, real estate transactions and construction matters achieve their objectives through a defined and realistic strategy.

I can provide a detailed understanding of the emerging legal issues in green building and the LEED rating system. I am the only attorney in West Michigan that has achieved the LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) designation through the United States Green Building Council, and an environmental certification from Green Advantage®.

I understand the issues faced by those individuals and businesses in the real estate and construction industry through my involvement with the Associated Builders & Contractors Governmental Affairs committee, the Home Building Association Land Development Committee, and the State Bar of Michigan Commercial Real Estate and Development Committee. I am also a member of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Michigan and Grand Rapids Bar Association.

James A. Christopherson, Esq. is an arbitrator, mediator and practicing attorney. He has over 28 years of experience as an attorney, arbitrator and mediator in complex construction, real estate, healthcare, commercial, contractual, financial and environmental disputes. He is available to provide legal assistance in commercial, healthcare, real estate, construction and environmental disputes throughout the State of Michigan. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Mr. Christopherson is on the National Roster of Neutral Arbitrators for both Commercial Arbitration and Construction Arbitration for the American Arbitration Association. He is an Arbitrator for the American Health Lawyers Association, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution, the National Arbitration Forum and the London Court of International Arbitration. He is a mediator for the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Arbitration Association, the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, the Conflict Resolution Service and many state courts.
