Alicia George is an Associate at Johnson Marlowe, LLP and focuses on construction and business development matters for clients.
Prior to joining Johnson Marlowe, LLP, Alicia worked as representative of the National Association of Home Builders, representing 36,000 building companies across the United States, working to identify areas of concern and development within the home building industry.
Alicia also served as the staff attorney for the Northern Judicial Circuit of Georgia, for a team of three judges, covering Elbert, Hart, Madison, Oglethorpe and Franklin counties. In this clerkship she spent every day in court and drafted orders, jury charges, and countless briefs on a wide variety of civil and criminal matters in Northeast Georgia.
Alicia graduated from Georgia State University College of Law, and served as a judicial extern for the Honorable John J Goger of the Fulton County Superior Court, where she drafted orders and researched bankruptcy and family court related issues. Alicia also served as Graduate Research Assistant for Professor Jack Williams, where she co-authored published papers on bankruptcy and American Indian Law. While in law school Alicia also became a certified court mediator, served as Vice President of the Hispanic Student Bar Association, and was chosen to be inducted into the Weltner Inn of Court.
Prior to law school, Alicia graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Public Relations, and a minor in Spanish. She used her Spanish language skills to serve in the Athens community, co-teaching a Spanish-speaking preschool class. Alicia also worked on international communications research in the Cox Center for International Communication. She also was a member of the University of Georgia Philharmonic Orchestra for four years, where she played the viola.
