Q. I’m being accused of stealing a car I was given permission to work on from the same person who hired me, police handled
A: Unfortunately this situation is all too common. I would gather any communication you have with the person who gave you permission to work on the car such as text messages, social media communication, emails or any documentation you have to show you had permission. Do not talk to the police. instead, find a criminal defense attorney who can present the evidence you have collected to the police or prosecutor. Remember, you can never talk yourself out of an arrest but you can always talk yourself into a conviction. Good luck!
