Andrew J Weegar
Meriwether & Tharp, LLC
I am an attorney in Meriwether & Tharp’s Woodstock office, and I handle all types of family law matters. I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and my law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. After law school, I returned to Georgia and began representing the state of Georgia in the establishment of child support actions.
During my time handling child support, I realized I have a passion helping people in the other aspects of family law. I joined Meriwether & Tharp in 2015 and since that time have represented clients in divorces, separate maintenance actions, child custody modifications, child support modifications, legitimations, contempt actions, and actions for family violence protective orders. I have also helped numerous clients by drafting and/or evaluating prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
I have spent my entire time with Meriwether & Tharp in their Woodstock office and focused my practice on Northwest Georgia. I have significant experience in Cherokee, Cobb, Paulding, Bartow, Pickens, Gilmer, Fannin, and Douglas counties. While I maintain a resolution focus in my practice, when settlement is not possible, I have represented clients in contested hearings receiving numerous favorable results for clients.
On a personal level, I was born and raised in Georgia and have made my home in the metro Atlanta area for my entire life, outside of my three years in law school. I am an avid sports fan and support the Georgia Bulldogs as well as all of Atlanta’s professional sports franchises. In my spare time I also enjoy cooking, playing golf, and live music.
