Andrew Yang
Andrew Lee Yang (he/him) is a Supervising Attorney in the Health and Independence Unit at Community Legal Services, and a Medical Legal Partnership attorney. He focuses on assisting clients with income supports and public benefits. He supervises MLP sites at PHMC Rising Sun and CHOP Primary Care South Philadelphia.
Mr. Yang was a legal intern with the Temple Legal Aid Clinic, where he represented clients in their disability claims. He was a legal intern at the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas. During his time at law school, he was a recipient of the James Peter and Stella Liacouras Memorial Scholarship and a member of the Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society.
He graduated from Temple Law in 2014 and went on to become an associate attorney representing disabled clients at Martin Law and became the head of Martin Law’s Social Security disability department. He received the Super Lawyers Rising Stars distinction from 2021-2023.
Mr. Yang is also a co-founder of the South Philadelphia Participatory Defense Hub, as well as a member of the Up Against the Law Legal Collective, specializing in supporting activists and community members in their 1st and 4th Amendment rights.
