Biography

Anson H. Asbury, J.D., LL.M., is the Managing Shareholder of Asbury Law Firm, Tax Counsel. Anson represents clients in civil and criminal tax litigation and federal tax controversies. Anson is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and a Barrister in the J. Edgar Murdock American Inn of Court at the United States Tax Court. He is recognized by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Georgia Super Lawyers, and Georgia’s Legal Elite for his expertise in tax litigation.

Anson is the co-host of Tax Talk with Art and Anson – a GSPCA video CPE series. He has written on tax topics for The Practical Tax Lawyer and other national publications and been quoted on tax matters in the Washington Post and other daily newspapers. He is a retired officer in the U.S. Army Reserve and a former law clerk to the Honorable Joseph Gale of the United States Tax Court.

He is the Vice-Chair of the Court Practice and Procedure Committee of the American Bar Association Section on Taxation. He is a past chair of the Atlanta Bar Association Tax Law Section and a Barrister in the American Inns of Court at the U.S. Tax Court.

Anson received his Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University, his Juris Doctor from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law, and his LL.M. in taxation (with distinction) from the Georgetown University Law Center.
