Arnold Goldstein
Goldstein Law OfficesWhen experience counts, count on me. My career as a young attorney began in commercial litigation and quickly grew into Corporate & Business Litigation; with a very strong accounting and tax background I began to do more business and corporate law, estate and trust planning and the garden variety practice from bankruptcy to taking a small company public to heading a group in the successful purchase of a bank, and so on for the first 20 years of my practice. When someone asked me to handle my first divorce, I approached it as a business dissolution: logical and with a desire that everyone walk away with something reasonable. My experience as a litigator, my time spent representing business, creating trust, and having an accounting background, turned out to be the exact ingredients of a good divorce attorney. I could see each side of the case so I was able to anticipate the problems before they became overwhelming.

I think that it is important that both the client and the attorney feel comfortable before we can have a good working relationship. There are too many times during family law matters when I need to understand my client to make a immediate response or direct a conversation to benefit my client. Spending the initial time getting to know the personality (and the client's getting to know the attorney's personality) is the only way to begin a successful "lawyer-client" relation. It usually takes 15 to 30 minutes to reach a point where each of us can judge whether we are going to be able to work together successfully. -
