I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, becoming the first in my family to attend a four-year college. After earning my degree, I relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, to pursue my legal education at the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. While there, I served on the editorial board of The University of Memphis Law Review and published two articles. My time in Memphis was rewarding both academically, as I graduated with honors, and personally, as my wife and I welcomed two children.
In 2003, I returned to North Carolina and started my career as a workers’ compensation defense attorney in Charlotte, licensed to practice in both North and South Carolina. For nearly eight years, I represented employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation cases before deciding to switch my focus to representing plaintiffs.
I joined Campbell & Associates in 2011, where I led the firm’s workers’ compensation department. After joining the firm, I successfully passed the North Carolina State Bar’s certification exam to become certified in workers’ compensation law. In 2024, I achieved a career-long dream by establishing The Law Offices of Bradley H. Smith.
My prior experience representing employers and carriers has provided me with valuable insights and knowledge that I now utilize to advocate for injured workers. I am known for being incredibly approachable and for my ability to listen to my clients with empathy. I emphasize the importance of explaining the complexities of the workers’ compensation legal system in a clear and straightforward manner, ensuring that my clients are well-informed and can make knowledgeable decisions about their cases. I always encourage questions from clients to facilitate this understanding.
