Brian J. Tharp is the founding partner of Tharp & Associates, Ltd. Brian is a graduate of St. Olaf College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and a concentration in Asian Studies. Brian attended law school at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he received a Juris Doctor Degree. In 2006 Brian began practicing as the Law Offices of Brian J. Tharp in the Chicago Loop. In 2010, Brian merged his practice with the Law Offices of Michael Gunderson, to form Gunderson & Tharp. In 2014 Brian moved his practice to Arlington Heights and established Tharp & Associates, Ltd. Brian concentrates his practice in transactions related to residential Real Estate work, investor Real Estate representation, developer representation and Estate Planning.
As A Member Of The Profession
Brian has represented both individuals and organizations as pro-bono counsel in matters ranging from custody agreements, landlord/tenant disputes and corporate dissolution. Brian has been a guest speaker in the community detailing issues ranging from lease negotiation and protection to short sale transactions and purchases of distressed real estate.
In The Chicagoland Community
Brian was born and raised in the Northwest suburb of Arlington Heights and maintains strong ties to its community as well as that of the City of Chicago. Brian has volunteered with the Lutheran Ministries homeless shelter and has continued his involvement with First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights. Brian, his wife Alexa, their two daughters, Charlotte and Caroline, and their black lab Oliver live in the Arlington Heights.
