Brian Nelson Steele

Brian N. Steele graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1997. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law in 2000 and has been a licensed member of the Minnesota Bar for over 19 years. He is a graduate of the National College of DUI Defense summer session conducted at Harvard University in 2015.
Brian acquired exceptional trial skills as a judicial law clerk for District Court Judge A. James Dickenson in St. Paul, Minnesota before going into private practice in 2003 where he now focuses his practice on criminal defense and particularly DWI defense.
He is currently the managing partner of Steele Law, PLLC in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a mission to contribute to justice by providing excellent legal representation to each and every client through honest, trustworthy, and proficient attorneys. Steele Law’s attorneys represent clients in several areas of practice including felony and misdemeanor criminal defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death prosecution, estate planning, and employment law.
Brian’s practice is now concentrated in the area of DWI/DUI and he has handled thousands of criminal and civil cases both at the District Court and Court of Appeals.
Brian is sympathetic to the emotional and mental impact legal issues have on both the individual and family. Brian’s open and honest communication with clients is the bedrock of his successful legal practice. Brian aims to reduce clients’ fear and anxiety by taking the time to fully educate each client about the legal process ahead and to set reasonable and attainable goals and objectives for each case.
Brian is a member of the National College of DWI Defense and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is Lead Counsel rated in both DWI and criminal defense.
