Cabot C. Christianson
I am a lifelong Alaskan (born in Sitka), have practiced law in Anchorage for 44 years, and am currently a solo practitioner. My practice encompasses all aspects of commercial law, with an emphasis in bankruptcy, debt restructuring and workouts. I represent creditors, Chapter 11 business debtors, and Chapter 7 trustees, and also provide mediation and arbitration services.

Selected cases and reported decisions:
Alaska Urological Institute, P.C. v. Small Business Administration, 619 B.R. 689 (D. Alaska 2020); Alaska district court decision granting permanent injunction against SBA; SBA’s excluding bankruptcy debtors from PPP loan program was arbitrary and capricious.
In re Tercon Investments, Ltd., (2015) 11 consolidated Chapter 15 cases; only Chapter 15 cases ever filed in Alaska.
In re Mortensen: represented Chapter 7 trustee to utilize Section 548(e) to avoid transfer of property by solvent trustor to self-settled trust outside state law; 2011 WL 5025249 (Bankr. D. Alaska, 2011).
In re Haida Corporation (1985): first Alaska Native Corporation to file Chapter 11.
In re Bonham: represented Chapter 7 trustee in Ponzi scheme case;
229 F. 3rd 750 (9th Cir. 2000) (substantive consolidation), 251 B.R. 113 (Bankr. D. Alaska, 2000)(granting summary judgment on the existence of Ponzi scheme).
