Cameron Bedard
Criminal Defense & Civil Rights Trial Attorney
Cameron Bedard founded Rights & Liberties Law Firm to combat systemic injustices in the criminal legal system, focusing on criminal defense and police misconduct civil rights violations. As a former Colorado State Public Defender in Arapahoe and Denver Counties, Cameron handled thousands of misdemeanors and serious felonies, including major drug trafficking, sex offenses, aggravated robberies, violent crimes, attempted murder, and homicides.
After his public defender role, Cameron joined The Frank Law Office, a top civil rights and criminal defense firm in Denver. Working with Adam Frank, he tackled high-stakes civil rights cases against police officers and government officials, achieving notable successes in excessive force, unconstitutional search, false arrest, prisoner abuse, and free speech cases.
Cameron has taken over 40 cases to trial, winning numerous acquittals and securing a civil rights verdict against a cop who violated his client's constitutional rights. His explosive cross-examinations have led to midtrial dismissals and exonerations. Beyond trials, Cameron's creative litigation and persuasive writing have resulted in favorable rulings on complex constitutional issues and suppression motions, leading to charge dismissals.
He has overturned convictions on appeal, secured compassionate release for a BOP prisoner sentenced under harsh federal drug laws, and successfully challenged a client's 25-year sentence, getting it vacated. Cameron's deep understanding of the system's impact on people allows him to connect with clients, tell their stories, and humanize them, bringing real-life experience into his legal advocacy.

- I'm a trial attorney focused on vindicating my clients' rights in both the criminal and civil rights arena. I founded Rights & Liberties Law Firm to fight systemic injustices perpetuated by the criminal legal system, the police, and government officers who abuse their powers. I’ve taken over 40 cases to trial in both criminal and civil courts, overturned convictions on appeal and postconviction matters, secured compassionate release for a BOP prisoner, helped win the release of a prisoner from ADX, and secured over $1,000,000 in various civil rights settlements against abusive government officers.

- As a criminal defense and civil rights attorney, I defended my clients against charges ranging from DUIs and assaults to COCCA and homicide. I also took the offensive against government officers who abused their powers and violated peoples' civil rights. While working at Frank Law Office, together, with civil rights wizard Adam Frank we took Colorado's first 13-21-131 case to trial. We prevailed securing a verdict against an Aurora police officer who violated our client's constitutional rights. While working at Frank Law Office I took on police officers, detectives, deputies, sergeants, and cities in high stakes civil rights suits achieving notable successes in excessive force, unconstitutional search, false arrest, prisoner abuse, and free speech civil rights cases.

- I’ve tried dozens of cases before a jury, securing 17 straight not guilty verdicts for clients, as well as a number of favorable split verdicts. I’ve written 4 appeals and reversed a guilty verdict. I wrote and won a 35(c) resulting in a 25 year sentenced being overturned. I’ve litigated a wide variety of constitutional and evidentiary issues at motions hearings, winning suppression motions for clients, and raising novel arguments through original filings. I’ve carried both misdemeanor and felony caseloads representing clients in matters ranging from traffic offenses to homicides. I know how to represent clients with zeal, empathy, and compassion.
