Christina M. Martell
Solo Practitioner at The Law Office of Christina Martell
Christina ("Chrissie") Martell is an experienced family law attorney in Warrenville, Illinois. She represents clients in the areas of divorce, parentage, adoption, and real estate. Chrissie's even-tempered nature serves her well in difficult arguments with opposing parties, in and out of court. Chrissie knows that her clients come to her during times of great difficulty or high stress in their families, and she competently and fairly represents their important needs in court. An effective negotiator, she is able to find creative solutions to her clients' problems, and she works to ensure that opposing parties consider all options before escalating issues to trial. When agreements cannot be reached, however, Chrissie skillfully argues for her clients in court. She has experience litigating matters of parenting time, maintenance, child support, contested adoptions, contested guardianships, and more.
Chrissie gained significant insight into family law and divorce issues while working as a law clerk for family law firms in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. During law school, she worked as an extern for a Domestic Relations judge in Cook County and volunteered at the Domestic Violence Courthouse. She also participated in DePaul University's Family Law Clinic, representing clients in pro bono divorce and domestic violence cases. Chrissie was an active member and served as the recruitment chair of Phi Alpha Delta, the law school's largest student organization, for two years. She was an active volunteer in the Chicago community during law school and after graduating.
Chrissie believes it is best for children to develop positive relationships with both of their parents whenever safe and reasonable to do so, but she argues for reasonable parameters to be set in place to balance a parent's rights and responsibilities with the best interests of the child.
