Danyel Peters
Danyel Peters is a native of Auburn, Alabama. She grew up in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School. Danyel completed her undergraduate work at Auburn University with a major in Political Science with a focus in law. She then earned a Master’s in Public Administration with a focus and certification in Election Administration from Auburn University. While at Auburn University she interned with the Lee County District Attorney’s office and served as a Graduate Research Assistant where her research contributed to the publication of Professor Steven Brown’s book, “Alabama Justice: The Cases and Faces that Changed a Nation.” Before starting law school Danyel worked with the Chambers County Development Authority in Chambers County, Alabama. Danyel attended Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate. While in law school Danyel served as the school’s Honor Court Prosecutor, President of the Jones Public Interest Foundation, and Vice President of the Women’s Legal Society. She was a part of the school’s Moot Court competition team and a member of the Board of Advocates. Danyel also served as a law clerk for the Chambers County District Attorney’s office. Upon graduation from law school Danyel was honored as a Distinguished Fellow of the Public Interest Society for her hours of pro-bono work completed during law school. After law school Danyel was admitted to the Alabama bar where she began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney for the Fifth Judicial Circuit of Alabama. Danyel then entered private practice as an Associate Attorney for Agricola Law in Opelika, Alabama before opening The Peters Law Firm. Danyel has a general practice with an extensive background in criminal defense, juvenile matters, and family law.
