David Platt
A good neighbor, who happens to be a good attorney
David M. Platt has more than 38 years of experience as an estate planning and business attorney. David concentrates his law practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, probate litigation, pre and post nuptial agreements, real estate and business entity formation. He assists clients in the preparation of wills, trusts, family cottage limited partnerships, as well as providing counsel to minimize income and estate taxes.
David frequently speaks and writes on estate planning and business matters for financial planners, accountants and attorneys, as well as the general public. He is an adjunct professor of law at the Michigan State University College of Law, and is the author of several publications.
David has been recognized for his work in estate planning and probate by Florida Super Lawyers® magazine (2012-2018) and Best Lawyers In America® (2006-2018). He also holds the highest AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
Prior to moving to Sanibel, David was a shareholder at Farhat and Story, P.C. in East Lansing and Fraser Trebilock in Lansing, Michigan.
