E. Seth Combs
A technology enthusiast with the heart & mind of a criminal defense lawyer - an antihero in every sense of the word. I grew up in the hills of southeast KY - an area known for many things, least of all technology. At 10 years old, my fascination with technology began - my first computer. Dial-up internet was still new(ish) but once I discovered what "the internet" a symbiotic bond formed & continues to grow.I have been a loyal & dedicated advocate of all things technology since before the internet became the god-child that it is today. In 7th grade, I decided to be a lawyer. Thus, I have been on a crash course for the nexus of law & technology since long ago. I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Eastern Kentucky University where I graduated with honors in 2008. It became clear while studying areas like Criminal Investigations, White Collar Crime, Drugs, Crime & Society, and Organized Crime - there was no other career for me than being a defense attorney. After a short stint working for a county prosecutor and then loss prevention, I enrolled in graduate school at EKU.I received my Master's of Science degree cum laude in 2010. Next - the madness of law school. My desired career path had not strayed - criminal defense lawyer. Thus, I structured my studies & extracurriculars around the realm of criminal law. During law school, I worked briefly for an intellectual property/patent/trademark attorney. I then worked in a small Jacksonville firm whose primary area of practice is criminal defense. I graduated in May 2014 from Florida Coastal School of Law and was admitted to the KY Bar in September 2014. My hobbies include collecting sports memorabilia, spending far too many hours playing PC games & watching tons of movies/TV shows. My hidden talent = pop culture trivia. I have a disturbing ability to recall obscure movie trivia, quotes, and tidbits that have no business occupying a part of one's memory.

- Q. As a 16 yr old in ky, what right do I have after being pulled over by an officer?
- A: This is a broad question and could be better answered with some more facts. As a general rule, since you are a minor and presumably driving on a valid "learner's permit," you are subject to stricter requirements in some areas. For example, Kentucky uses a "points system" with regard to traffic violations. Adults are allowed to accumulate <X> number of points within a given time -- the <X> for minors is more strict. Another example is with regard to DUI -- adults are subject to the .08 Blood-Alcohol Content (BAC) limit while minors are subject to .02 BAC, which far more strict.

- Q. is it illegal to forge a doctor's signature?
- A: Quite simply, yes. Doing this could subject you to serious criminal and/or civil penalties. You should contact a lawyer licensed to practice in Kentucky.
