Biography

I joined Her Justice in 2008 and currently have the responsibility of working alongside a dedicated team that includes staff attorneys, pro bono coordinators, and volunteer attorneys. Together, we provide advice, legal advocacy services, and free legal representation to economically disadvantaged women in New York City. Our focus areas include matrimonial, family law, and immigration claims under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). My role specifically involves training and mentoring around 90 volunteer attorneys from over 20 law firms on handling immigration cases with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), developing litigation strategies, and staying updated with changes in law and legal procedures. Additionally, I develop and implement Continuing Legal Education (CLE) training programs for these volunteers, directly represent 10-20 in-house clients on immigration matters, manage a caseload of 50-60 clients seeking free representation and advice, and collaborate with advocates and other community-based organizations to provide comprehensive legal and social services to our clients.

After graduating from law school, I was an Equal Justice Works Fellow at the Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center in Washington D.C. Before joining Her Justice, I served as the Supervising Attorney at the Courtroom Advocates Project with Sanctuary for Families, Center for Battered Women’s Legal Services. I earned a B.A. in Politics from Pomona College in 1997 and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2004. I am admitted to practice law in New York, Virginia, and California.
