Biography

Germán A. Salazar is the Vice President and General Counsel of AmeriFirst Financial, Inc., a residential mortgage lender and servicer. He is responsible for the company’s federal, state, and GSE compliance, litigation strategy and management, corporate governance, internal investigations, contracts, regulatory examinations, employment law, advertising and marketing compliance, privacy, and intellectual property as well as managing its real estate transactions and leasing. Germán’s professional experience includes being the managing partner of a mid-size law firm as well as various in-house legal positions building and managing legal departments in mortgage origination and servicing companies. As General Counsel, he focuses on implementing continuous change processes to meet the pace of regulatory change in the consumer finance industry. Working closely with enterprise management, state and federal regulators, Germán builds business-focused compliance processes and effective risk-management as well as an open, inclusive and collaborative workplace. Germán received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University in 1987 and is licensed to practice law in Texas, Florida, and Arizona.
