Q. I bought a used car off of craig's list that turned out to be a disaster -- do lemon laws still apply?

A: Wisconsin's lemon law does not apply to the purchase of used car. However, Wisconsin does have remedies available to consumers that buy used cars based on affirmative misrepresentations by the seller, both private parties and car dealers. There may also be warranty claims if you purchased a warranty or service contract. You may want to consult with an attorney licensed in Wisconsin and familiar with the consumer protection laws to see what your rights are.
