Summary

As a family law attorney, I am passionate about the needs of children and families during difficult and distressing times. After earning my law degree at the University of Colorado Law School, I received a certificate in Juvenile and Family Law with honors. This program allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of my chosen field. As a family law attorney at The Harris Law Firm, I focus on high-conflict cases, post-decree trial work, appeals, dependency and neglect, and domestic relations cases that involve dealing with small, family-owned businesses. Many of my cases involve drug and alcohol use and abuse or mental health issues. My passion for protecting the children involved in these cases drives me to shield them from the emotional fallout of hostile divorce cases. As such, I believe that trials should be treated as a final resort, preferring to steer clients towards cooperative, synergistic solutions. I am also trained in collaborative divorce law and believe that the best solutions for families are often built outside the structure of litigation and trial settings. As an investigative attorney, I have uncovered six-figure assets that were being hidden by the other party, helping bringing transparency to cases with hostile or uncooperative spouses. My skills as a lawyer allow me to take complex situations and cut to the root of them, drawing clarity out of confusion. I practice law on a volunteer basis as well, as a Pro Bono Appellate Attorney for indigent clients who desperately require legal guidance. I also volunteer as an advocate for children in court, also known as a Guardian Ad Litem. As an advocate for my clients,  I seek to combine compassion, drive, experience, and skill. My understanding of the law is only matched by my desire to understand my client's needs, and this allows me to serve them as an effective ally in many differen
