Widely respected for his courtroom skills and tenacity, Hector J. Lombana has devoted his career to protecting the rights of victims. After spending the first years of his legal career defending corporations, insurance companies, physicians and hospitals, Mr. Lombana has dedicated himself solely to helping individuals. The knowledge gained representing corporations and insurance companies are one of the many weapons he brings to bear in his relentless advocacy for our clients.
A native of Havana, Cuba, Mr. Lombana graduated with High Honors from Rutgers University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He then excelled at Rutgers University Law School, where he was selected to be the teaching assistant to the Dean Emeritus for the Law School and Professor of Constitutional Law.
Mr. Lombana is extremely active in promoting the legal rights of Hispanics, African Americans, women, and other minorities while working at the same time to increase their numbers in the legal community and bench. He is a past president and director of the Cuban American Bar Association, a member of the Inner Circle of the Hispanic National Bar Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and Litigation Counsel of America. A member of the Federal Trial Bar, he is a past chair and current member of the Third District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission, a former member of the Florida Bar Civil Procedure Rules Committee and the Supreme Court Committee on the Qualification and Retention of Retired Judges.
A great communicator, Mr. Lombana has made numerous appearances on national and local media speaking on issues related to the legal profession and trial practice. He is also widely recognized as an authority on trial practice.
He is a Martindale Hubbell “AV” rated lawyer, and a member of Best Lawyers in America, Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite, Florida Super Lawyers.
