James A Turner
Oliver & Turner, PLLCJimmy Turner focuses his practice on criminal defense, insurance and injury litigation, and estate planning. A Memphis native, Jimmy graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Administration. Prior to entering law school, he worked for Covenant Transport in Chattanooga, TN, one of the largest trucking companies in the Southeastern United States. This education and experience has provided Jimmy with a unique, firsthand knowledge of the transportation industry and federal motor carrier regulations not held by the average attorney. As an attorney, Jimmy has also represented a number of trucking companies in injury and wrongful death claims. For cases involving accidents with tractor-trailers, hiring the average lawyer without this key knowledge and background is risky. After graduating from the Nashville School of Law in 2011, Jimmy joined a well-respected insurance defense firm in downtown Nashville. Jimmy has over 9 years working with insurance companies on injury claims. As an attorney, he has represented individuals, businesses, and insurance companies in civil litigation cases, including automobile accidents, tractor-trailer accidents, wrongful death cases, dog bites, child injuries and various other insurance claims. A large part of Jimmy’s practice consists of defending individuals charged with criminal offenses. Often times this is a person’s first brush with law enforcement. The criminal court process can be intimidating and unnerving. Jimmy’s approach is to bring relief to an otherwise difficult situation. Trained by a former police officer in criminal defense and investigation, Jimmy defends those charged with DUI, domestic assault, drug offenses, assault, and all other Tennessee misdemeanors and felonies. Jimmy resides in Murfreesboro with his wife and their two sons.
