Jeff Soilson
Quantum ADR | Founder | Coach| Mediator
Ashleigh Louis, PhD and I founded Quantum ADR to emphasize compassionate conflict resolution through coaching and mindful mediation. Our aim is to effectively navigate intertwined relationships rather than attempting to sever them completely or establish the dominance of one party over the other.
We've witnessed firsthand the detrimental impact of high-conflict relationships on children and adults, alike. This ignited our passion to resolve conflict through an interdisciplinary approach that is informed from both a legal and mental health perspective to help people discover the unique solutions that maximize healthy resolution for all parties.
Rather than winners and losers, we encourage focusing on the wellbeing of individuals and their relationships, in whatever forms those take. We embrace the importance of understanding that interconnectedness endures long after conflicts are settled, and believe the best approaches are those that facilitate growth, insight, and compromise.
As Past Chapter President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, I have deep insights into the legal system that I feel passionately about sharing.
Throughout my volunteer experiences as Director of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC-MA), an interdisciplinary association dedicated to the resolution of family conflict, and Overcoming Barriers, a non-profit organization created to promote healthy co-parenting for children in high conflict families, I realized that the best way to resolve conflict is through leveraging the tools that legal and mental health professionals bring to the table.
Admitted to the MA, FL and NY bars, I graduated from Columbia University, (B.A., 1994) and Cardozo School of Law, (J.D., 1997), and, during law school, I clerked at the Israeli Supreme Court where I researched and wrote about family law. I am also a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy.

- You may know where your client is getting married, but you don't know where she or he might be getting a divorce (or die). That is the rub and that is what this seminar is about. A choice of law clause may or may not be effective. Will a court in Massachusetts enforce a Virginia premarital agreement at divorce? What about an arbitration clause? Your client may end up in Texas where jury trials are the norm. Or in Indiana where all property is fair game for division at divorce. Or what about a couple with a premarital agreement from the EU getting divorced in the states. Can you include a forum selection clause in a premarital agreement? What state's law will determine division of whatever is defined by the agreement as marital property if the premarital agreement does not predetermine this issue? Premarital agreements can be a risky business. What can you do as the drafting lawyer to better protect your client who may move to another state? Ameliorate your risk and learn from the best - AAML's own and the country's leading prenup expert.
