- My responsibilities included analyzing disputed insurance language and advising insurance carriers of their contractual and extracontractual risks and duties to their policyholders. I filed numerous declaratory relief actions, both against policyholders for reimbursement and non-participating carriers for indemnification, contribution, and subrogation. Many of the issues I dealt with involved the seminal Cumis opinion and subsequent codification of its essential rule as set forth at section 2860 of the California Civil Code.
