Alexander is a Partner of the firm who concentrates a majority of her practice on matters involving New Jersey Landlord-Tenant Law, Community Association Law, and Collections Law. She also handles Real Estate Transactions, Mediation, Land Use, and Municipal Court matters. She begins most days appearing in Landlord-Tenant Court or appearing on behalf of community associations in litigation matters and ends most of her days representing communities in board meetings. Ms. Alexander oversees the firm’s Landlord-Tenant Department. Under Ms. Alexander’s leadership, the firm represents local and national corporate and individual landlords. Representation includes non-payment cases, "for-cause” cases, lease drafting, and statutory compliance. Ms. Alexander has successfully handled several housing discrimination suits on behalf of landlords filed by tenants and can provide procedures and recommendations to help limit landlords exposure to Federal Fair Housing violations. She also appears in municipal court when a landlord is cited for violations. Ms. Alexander similarly represents community associations providing guidance through the transition process from developer control to homeowner control and general counsel for all community association needs. She handles necessary litigation on behalf of community associations including construction defect cases. Ms. Alexander appears before Planning and Zoning Boards in support of community association applications as well as in opposition to developers when an application contains a project contrary to a client’s interests. She also appears in municipal court when a community association is cited for violations. Moreover, Ms. Alexander handles community association loan applications when an association secures a loan or a line of credit. Ms. Alexander also oversees the Collections Department, which works on behalf of community association clients seeking payment of delinquent maintenance fees and charges.
