Biography

Throughout his legal career, Joe has actively practiced many different areas of law, including personal injury, medical malpractice, foreclosure defense, bankruptcy, family law, landlord/tenant disputes, breach of contract and debt negotiation.

For the last eight years, however, Joe has focused his practice strictly on personal injury and medical malpractice. He is responsible for resolving millions of dollars worth of injury cases for clients in nearly every aspect of tort law including slip and falls, auto negligence, premises liability, products liability, medical malpractice, and intentional torts.

Joe is a member of the Florida Bar and Orange County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Trial Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar. Joe is also licensed to practice before the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida.

Q. I heard on the radio about reopening a injury lawsuit.... If I feel I was forced into settling in court because covid
A: Not likely. If you agreed to the settlement, and signed a Release in favor of the at-fault party, the case is essentially over. I'm sorry you feel like you were not fully compensated, but unfortunately you agreed to it at the time and cannot change your mind after all the paperwork has been signed. Although it is impossible to know the true value of your case with the little information you provided, I will say that in general with personal injury cases, if you are not actively treating, the case value does not increase much, or at all. That is likely the reason your attorney suggested you settle your case. Your treating doctor's office closing for COVID certainly hurt your case, but we all dealt with that initial COVID shutdown. I made sure my clients found somewhere else to continue their treatment as soon as things opened back up. Insurance companies were all giving a bit of leeway in those initial gaps in treatment because they understood there was simply no choice for a couple months, but the key was to get clients back into treatment ASAP when things started opening back up. ...
