Joen Elizabeth Copeland
Arora Legal, PLLCJoen E. Copeland is a practicing attorney admitted in all the courts of the state of New Mexico with a focus on Immigration Law. Ms. Copeland graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law with pro bono distinction for her many hours of volunteer work with the Homeless Legal Assistance Project and the Arizona Justice Project. Ms. Copeland also attended Arizona State University for her undergraduate degree where she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the W.P. Carey School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, a minor in communications, and an International Business Certificate. Ms. Copeland was born in San Antonio, Texas and spent a significant part of her childhood in Mexico City, Mexico. Ms. Copeland has a long history of volunteer and pro-bono service with organizations dedicated to helping Immigrants, the homeless, and those of lower socioeconomic status in the Phoenix area. Ms. Copeland was a volunteer English Second Language teacher at Payute Elementary in Phoenix Arizona. She volunteered as a translator/interpreter for the ACT health fair school readiness project where she assisted doctors, dentists, and care providers to communicate with children and parents in order to help reduce language barriers that inhibit effective health care. Ms. Copeland was executive board member of the Hispanic Business Student's Association at Arizona State University and chair of recruitment and retention, moot court coordinator, and mentor for the Chicano Latino Law Students Association. Ms. Copeland was also a volunteer translator for her law school's Immigration clinic and volunteer legal aid to homeless veterans and battered women. Ms. Copeland is a life time member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, Golden Key Honor Society and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and is a Hispanic Business Student Association Academic Achievement Honoree.
