Legal Answers
- Q. If a child is legally adopted in the state of Colorado. Can they claim an inheritance from their bio parent? No will
- A: Generally speaking, no. Look at Colorado Revised Statutes 15-11-119, which says that there is no right of succession / inheritance between an adoptee and biological parents. There are exceptions, though, so read the statute completely to see if any apply to this situation.
