Jonathan Mark Cader
Sanders Law Group
I began my career as a legal administrator for a Chapter 13 bankruptcy trustee. That experience required me to evaluate cases and claims from the perspective of a court neutral and examine the strengths and weaknesses of the respective positions of the multiple parties to a bankruptcy proceeding. It also required me to develop an in-depth knowledge of how cases proceed when they are governed almost exclusively by a complex statutory scheme. These experiences, learned early on in my career provided me with the type of analytical skills that would prove highly beneficial as my career progressed.
After bankruptcy, I joined a general practice firm. In that practice, I handled a wide variety of matters which ranged from those as simple as contract disputes and foreclosure defense, to those as complex as trademark infringement claims involving a famous rapper, corporate structure violations, international thefts of business and trade secrets, and a civil RICO claim involving a former NFL player. This practice also included a wide array of appellate work, requiring different analytical skills. Through that appellate practice, I further developed my argument skills, both written and oral.
While I appreciated the variety of exposure associated with a general practice, I began to miss the level of knowledge that can be developed in a more focused practice. To this end, I joined the boutique firm of Sanders Law Group, where my focus has been primarily on federal practice, representing consumers in debt collection violation cases and on representing plaintiffs in copyright infringement cases. I have since argued hundreds of cases at both the trial and appellate levels, and take great gratification in helping these clients, especially individuals, in obtaining redress for the wrongs done to them.
