Karam is the founder of The Law Office of Kathryn N. Karam in Houston where she represents clients throughout Harris County facing immigration issues. Before law school, Karam studied Chinese and earned her bachelor of arts in Chinese from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She also earned her certificate in Chinese studies from the Johns Hopkins-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies. Karam earned her juris doctor in 2007 from the University of Texas School of Law. Karam began her career at Quan, Burdette, and Perez, P.C., which later became FosterQuan LLP, in Houston. During this time, she handled all types of immigration matters, including family-based immigration matters, naturalization and citizenship issues, employment-based matters, non-immigrant visas and detention and removal cases. Karam was later employed with Greenberg Traurig, LLP in Houston, Texas, where she primarily handled non-immigrant visa matters. Karam founded The Law Office of Kathryn N. Karam in Houston in 2013. The firm provides personal and thorough legal counsel for those with immigration concerns. In addition to being Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law, Karam also is a member of several legal organizations and local associations.
