Biography

Katy M. Lovett has been practicing family law generally since 2013 and quite happily solely in Williamson County, Texas and Travis County, Texas since 2015. Katy’s main family law practice involves divorces (both high-conflict and uncontested), property characterization in divorces, original custody cases, custody order modifications, enforcements, custody issues and disputes, child support, spousal support, adoptions, and grandparents’ rights.

Katy has found meaning and purpose through practicing family law. Katy’s first and foremost goal in her family law practice is to try to help her clients navigate through what is typically one of the most stressful and turbulent times of their lives. She puts a particular focus on attempting to move forward in the divorce process in the most amicable way possible, while still zealously advocating for her clients. She prioritizes attempting to make it so that each of her clients can have a productive co-parenting relationship with the other parent of their children both throughout the litigation process and at the end of their cases.

Katy prides herself on trying to craft creative solutions in her cases to fit a family’s particular needs when the occasion arises. She understands that no two cases are the same, and each case needs personalized attention.

Despite Katy’s aim to have an amicable divorce process, she has a proud record of courtroom hearings and trials under her belt. She has no qualms facing off in trial if that step is in the best interest of her client.

Katy has extensive experience in family law cases dealing with alcohol, drugs, and other substance abuse. She is familiar with and sensitive to the complexities of the issues surrounding addiction and addiction’s effect on everyone in the addict’s family.
