Kaylan Colbert
Kaylan graduated from the University of Houston in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and minor in Political Science. Kaylan also has a Master’s degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University and attended law school at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. While in law school, Kaylan studied in London and took classes in Private International Law and International Criminal Law. Upon completing law school, Kaylan worked at personal injury law firms in Atlanta and eventually became an Assistant District Attorney for Fulton County. As a prosecutor, she fought for the victims of crimes and provided legal guidance to law enforcement officers and indicted hundreds of cases before various Georgia Grand Juries. She has extensive experience with legal research and oral advocacy. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and believes in helping people in and around her community.
Kaylan enjoys spending time with her family in her hometown of Houston, Texas, traveling the world with her husband, and exploring new restaurants around town.
