Kellie Corbett
Carolina Family Estate Planning
Kellie Corbett chose the University of South Carolina for her undergraduate degree for two reasons: the pageantry of big-time college football and the fact she hates snow. She got the pageantry but it came with snow – a freak storm, 8” of the stuff, her freshman year.
There’s a lesson there but we’re not exactly sure what it is — yet.
Kellie was accepted at the University of North Carolina School of Law where she became the first law student in the history of American law schools (that dates back to 1793) to fall in love with Trusts and Estates while taking the class.
That was it, that class, that professor — she ended up interning for him for several semesters – and ‘hands-on’ experience with legal clinics in wills and advanced directives convinced Kellie she had found exactly what she wanted to do with the law upon graduating . . .
. . . And because Estate Planning presents an ever-challenging intellectual exercise that allows her to work with and help people every day — her perfect job description.
When Kellie’s not ‘lawyering’ she is, her words (and, truly, the title of a one day best seller) A Crazy Dog Mom. That would be to Max, her 90 pound Leonberger-mix rescue.
Kellie is also a baker, a runner, and a reader, not necessarily in that order. She is a true-crime aficionado (read:addict) as well as an historical fiction buff. Every once in a while, though — you can guess in what kind of weather – she’ll ‘spend a whole day binging a show on Netflix.’
