Kip O'Connor
Kip O’Connor was raised in a military family with a strong tradition of military service. Both of Kip’s Grandfathers, his Father and two uncles were all career Naval Officers.
Kip Graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland in 1989 and was commissioned an Officer in the United States Navy. He served in the United States Navy as a Naval Warfare Officer for seven years. After leaving the Navy, Kip worked as a chemical engineering, where he developed and interest in the study of law.
In 2000, Kip graduated from University of Baltimore School of Law with honors (cum laude) in 2000. After graduation, he was admitted to practice law in Maryland and worked for a private law firm concentration in criminal defense and civil law. Kip handled hundreds of felony and misdemeanor criminal cases, personal injury case and divorce and child custody cases.
In 2004, Kip moved to Redstone, Colorado where he has significant family ties to the area. He was admitted to practice law in Colorado in 2005 and began his legal career in the Roaring Fork Valley. Kip worked for the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor in Glenwood Springs and Aspen. As a Deputy District Attorney, he gained valuable experience and insight into how cases are prosecuted. He prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, including DUI cases, domestic violence cases, drug cases, assault and harassment cases and many others. In the private sector, Kip has worked for several private law firms in the area, handling DUIs, criminal cases, divorce and child custody cases and personal injury cases and has litigated case in County Court, District Court and Colorado’s Appellate Court.
Kip is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Maryland Bar Association, the 9th Judicial County Bar Association and the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar Association. Kip has 16 years of legal experience and a proven track record of winning cases.
