Legal Answers
- Q. Will there be any problem if I go back to my country without paying?
- A: Not paying your debt will not follow you back to your home country when you leave the US. However, when you do not pay a debt, your creditors will most likely bring a legal action against you in court and once they have a judgment against you the judgment will be valid for the next 20 years. If you have assets in the US they can put a lien and seize the asset. If you decide to return to the US and start working again at any point they can garnish your wages.
