I’m a former federal and Texas prosecutor practicing criminal defense law.
Lance Kennedy is a former federal and Texas prosecutor serving the criminal defense needs of Central Texas.
A seventh-generation Texan, Lance was born in East Texas and raised in Dallas. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a law degree from Southern Methodist University, and a master’s degree from Harvard University.
After completing his education, Lance became a Judge Advocate in the United States Army Reserve.
Along with his military service, Lance began his legal career as a Texas prosecutor. As an Assistant Attorney General and Assistant District Attorney, Lance prosecuted felonies, misdemeanors, and civil cases for almost five years. In 2019, he was appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA), prosecuting federal crimes while also prosecuting state offenses. As a state prosecutor, Lance tried approximately fifty trials before judges and juries.
After a year and a half as a SAUSA, the Department of Justice appointed Lance as a full-time federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office. In this capacity, Lance prosecuted a variety of federal offenses, including prosecuting cartel members, tax offenders, and sexual predators. He tried seven federal jury trials, each resulting in a guilty verdict.
Drawing upon his vast experience, including prosecuting thousands of criminal cases, Lance understands the criminal justice system from beginning to end. And he is committed to helping his clients navigate it so they can get their lives back.
