Ms. Underwood focuses her practice in a wide variety of estate and tax planning, probate and trust administration, contested probate and trust matters. Ms. Underwood is a the former Chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Council of the State Bar of Michigan, past editor of the Probate Journal, member of the Real Property, Trust Law and Taxation Sections of the American Bar Association; the Taxation Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and the Oakland County Bar Association. She has written several articles and been a contributing author for the ICLE publication Michigan Estate Planning Handbook. Ms. Underwood received her B.A. degree with high distinction from Wayne State University in 1981 and her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the Detroit College of Law in 1991. She has lectured frequently for many groups and organizations, including the Institute for Continuing Legal Education. She is a Past President of the Wayne State University Alumni Association, Past President of the Woodbridge Citizen’s Association, past member of the Board of Visitors of the Institute of Gerontology, and past board member for St. Luke’s Health Ministries and Canterbury on the Lake.
