Mark Laverdiere
Mark is a skilled attorney who provides his clients with exceptional legal representation both in and out of the Courtroom. Mark is passionate about his areas of practice. He is an experienced transactional attorney in both business and real estate matters, while he also maintains an active civil and criminal litigation practice. He has protected his client’s interests through numerous multi-million dollar business transactions. He also provides counsel and assistance with business formations, shareholder agreements, noncompete provisions, and other corporate filings. He serves as corporate counsel to companies throughout the State of Maine.
Mark also works extensively in both commercial and residential real estate transactions, helping his clients or banks by ensuring that their interests are properly protected. Mark works closely with lenders and accountants to provide his clients with a comprehensive service. Mark’s interest in real estate law also finds him working frequently in real estate litigation matters involving property and easement disputes.
Prior to joining Griffin & Jordan, Mark worked as a judicial law clerk for the Maine Superior Court on hundreds of complex cases including real estate and business disputes, medical malpractice claims, employment discrimination and whistleblower cases, and murder/manslaughter trials.
His other practice areas include estate planning and estate litigation, wills & trusts, and personal injury. Mark is a former U.S. Army Sergeant who served from 2002 to 2006. During his time in the service, Mark was deployed to Tikrit, Iraq, with the First Infantry Division, where he operated as a combat commander and squad leader for over 13 months. He was named his battalion’s 2004 Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year while in Iraq and earned multiple medals and honors during his time in the service.
